\nThe Role
\nReporting to the Finance Director, the Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while also providing wider administrative support across the business. This is a varied, hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is keen to take ownership of their work.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards. \n
- Process, reconcile and analyse high-value purchase invoices, including invoices exceeding £1 million. \n
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. \n
- Generate and issue customer sales invoices. \n
- Code and process supplier purchase invoices accurately and efficiently. \n
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs. \n
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice and payment queries. \n
- Monitor company bank accounts and manage daily banking activities. \n
- Prepare monthly bank and cash reconciliations. \n
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports. \n
- Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory returns. \n
- Process accounting transactions, post journals and maintain financial records using Sage accounting software. \n
- Maintain accurate finance records, including electronic filing, reporting and data entry. \n
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Director and assist other areas of the business as required. \n
About You
\nThe Assistant Management Accountant should be organised, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. You'll have excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the wider success of the business.
\nEssential Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- AAT Level 4 qualification or currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA. \n
- Previous experience working in a finance or accounts environment. \n
- Experience using Sage accounting software. \n
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. \n
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. \n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers. \n
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. \n
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion. \n
Desirable

- Experience or knowledge of the motor, automotive or fleet management industry. \n
