Paraplanner

NIGEL JAMES ASSOCIATES LTD
Exeter, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

Paraplanner | Hybrid Working | Growing Independent Financial Planning Firm

\n

Nigel James Associates are working with a growing independent financial planning business as they look to appoint an experienced Paraplanner to support their team of Advisers.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially secure, client-focused firm that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality holistic financial planning advice. The company is in a strong phase of growth, with increasing client demand and ambitious long-term plans, making it an exciting time to join the business.

\n

You’ll be responsible for undertaking technical research, preparing suitability reports, assisting with complex planning cases, and supporting Advisers throughout the advice process. The client bank is made up predominantly of average-sized financial planning clients, with some larger and more technical cases that will provide additional variety and development opportunities.

\n

One of the key attractions of this role is the level of support available. The Advisers are supported by a dedicated and experienced administration team, allowing Paraplanners to focus on technical work and adding value rather than being drawn into day-to-day administrative tasks.

\n

The company offers a collaborative working environment where Paraplanners are viewed as an integral part of the client journey rather than simply a back-office function. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to technical discussions, help improve processes, and continue developing your expertise, with support for further professional qualifications where appropriate.

\n

The role operates on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home, offering a good balance between collaboration and flexibility.

\n

What we are looking for:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a Paraplanner role within an IFA or wealth management firm.
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning.
  • \n
  • Experience preparing suitability reports and conducting financial planning research.
  • \n
  • Diploma qualified (or working towards Chartered status) would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
  • \n
  • A proactive team player who enjoys supporting advisers and contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • \n
\n

What is on offer:

\n
    \n
  • Basic salary up to £48,000 depending on experience.
  • \n
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • \n
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home).
  • \n
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • \n
  • Strong administration support structure.
  • \n
  • Support with ongoing professional development and qualifications.
  • \n
  • The opportunity to join a respected and growing independent financial planning firm with a strong team culture and genuine long-term career prospects.
  • \n
