Finance Assistant
\nMarketing Agency | Shoreditch, London | Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH) | 30 - 35k
\nAssistant to support the Finance Controller with day-to-day financial operations and month-end processes.
\nYou’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing and managing transactions, supporting payroll, and ensuring strong financial housekeeping across the business.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience as a Finance Assistant in a fast-paced environment who is looking to gain broad, hands-on exposure across multiple finance functions within a dynamic agency setting.
\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Accurately process and record all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journals \n
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of supplier payments and invoice tracking \n
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy \n
- Monitor and categorise company expenses, including card payments and receipts \n
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations \n
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial data is accurate and up to date \n
- Support cashflow monitoring and reporting to the Finance Controller \n
- Assist with WIP (Work in Progress) tracking and liaise with non-finance teams on project costs \n
- Support internal and external audits and wider compliance requirements \n
- Assist with finance system maintenance (including Paprika and Xero) \n
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as required \n
About You
\n- \n
- 2+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or finance support role \n
- Experience in a marketing, media, or creative agency is highly desirable \n
- Strong knowledge of Xero (and ideally Paprika or similar agency finance tools) \n
- Confident handling bank reconciliations, AP, journals, and payroll support \n
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy \n
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities \n
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards (VAT, payroll, basic tax compliance) \n
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach \n
- Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment \n
