Pipe Fitter

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Experienced Compressed Air Pipe Fitter on behalf of our client based in Witham, Essex on a permanent basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

\n
• Install aluminium, copper, stainless steel and threaded steel pipework for compressed air and industrial gas systems
\n
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
\n
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipework to required dimensions
\n
• Install pipe supports, brackets, hangers and clamps
\n
• Assemble and connect pipework using mechanical fittings, brazing, soldering and welding techniques where required
\n
• Carry out pressure testing, leak testing and commissioning of completed systems
\n
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on compressed air systems
\n
• Replace damaged components and ensure systems are operating efficiently
\n
• Work alongside electricians, engineers and other trades to complete projects
\n
• Ensure all work is completed to health and safety regulations and company standards
\n
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
\n
• Travel to customer sites as required
\n

Additional Responsibilities

\n
• Assist with project coordination and site installations
\n
• Support and mentor junior pipe fitters where required
\n
• Complete installation reports and relevant documentation
\n
• Ensure projects are completed to agreed timescales and quality standards
\n

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

\n
• Minimum of 4-5 years' experience as a Pipe Fitter, ideally within compressed air or industrial gas systems
\n
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
\n
• Experience working with aluminium, copper, stainless steel and threaded steel pipework
\n
• Knowledge of brazing, soldering, welding and mechanical pipe fitting techniques
\n
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
\n
• Full UK Driving Licence
\n
• CSCS Card desirable
\n
• IPAF and PASMA certification advantageous
\n
• TIG and/or MIG welding experience beneficial
\n
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
\n

Working Pattern & Benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
