Job Description
This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated People Advisor to join a wonderful charity for a 9-month FTC, providing vital HR support. \nKey responsibilities:

- Provide timely and practical HR advice to managers and colleagues on routine employee matters such as sickness absence, performance, conduct, probation, and flexible working policies. \n
- Manage and resolve allocated employee relations cases from initial advice through to resolution, ensuring fairness, consistency, and clear communication. \n
- Identify and escalate complex or high-risk employee issues appropriately, working closely with senior HR colleagues. \n
- Maintain accurate, confidential case records, drafting documents including meeting invitations, outcome letters, notes, and action plans. \n
- Assist People Business Partners with case management, including process planning, meeting preparation, follow-up, and tracking progress. \n
- Support project activity by maintaining plans, trackers, and communications, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. \n
- Provide flexible HR administrative support across People Operations during periods of increased demand or organisational change. \n
- Keep HR systems and people data updated, supporting routine reporting, analysis, and management information needs. \n
- Guide managers in applying HR policies and processes confidently by providing practical, clear advice and signposting to resources and specialist support. \n
- Collaborate with various teams within the organisation to ensure a joined-up and positive employee and volunteer experience. \n
About you:
\n- \n
- Practical experience in HR advisory, employee relations or generalist HR roles, supporting managers and staff effectively. \n
- Relevant CIPD qualification (Level 3 or 5) or equivalent knowledge and experience. \n
- Understanding of UK employment law and best practices in employee relations, with good judgement to identify escalation points. \n
- Experience managing routine employee relations matters such as absence, probation, and performance issues. \n
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload under time constraints. \n
- Experience supporting HR projects, organisational change, or communications initiatives. \n
- Proficiency in HR information systems and reporting tools, such as Midland HR (iTrent) or Power BI, is desirable. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional and approachable relationships. \n
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion. \n
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. \n
