Payroll Manager
Job Description
Payroll Manager
\nWest London
\nUp to 60,000 + 10% bonus + excellent benefits
\nIf you're an experienced Payroll Manager looking for a role where you can truly own the payroll function rather than simply process it, this could be exactly what you've been searching for.
\nImagine joining a well established consumer brand where payroll is recognised as a critical business function. You will become the trusted expert for payroll across two UK entities, working closely with HR and Finance to ensure every employee is paid accurately, on time and in line with UK legislation.
\nThis is a hands on position with real autonomy. You will oversee the complete monthly payroll cycle, manage everything from salaries and bonuses to pensions and benefits, and be the go to person for resolving payroll queries.
\nBut this role is about more than processing payroll. It's an opportunity to improve and streamline processes, make the most of Workday's capabilities, and contribute to continuous improvements that positively impact both the business and its employees.
\nWhat you'll be doing
\n- \n
- Taking ownership of the end-to-end monthly payroll process for two UK entities. \n
- Processing salaries, bonuses, commissions, pensions, benefits and statutory deductions accurately and on time. \n
- Ensuring payroll remains fully compliant with UK legislation, HMRC requirements and internal policies. \n
- Preparing payroll reports along with P45s, P60s and P11Ds. \n
- Reconciling payroll data, investigating discrepancies and resolving employee queries. \n
- Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and auditors to maintain compliance and accuracy. \n
- Administering pension and private medical benefit schemes. \n
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and maximise the effectiveness of Workday. \n
What experience do you need?
\n- \n
- Strong experience managing UK payroll from start to finish. \n
- Hands on experience using Workday Payroll. \n
- Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, pensions and HMRC compliance. \n
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills. \n
- Outstanding analytical and organisational abilities. \n
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to explain payroll matters to colleagues at all levels. \n
- Previous experience supporting payroll implementations, system upgrades or process improvements would be a distinct advantage. \n
