A well-established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in Peterborough is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Business Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within a supportive, partner-led environment. The role will involve a strong mix of accounts, tax, and advisory work, with real client exposure and progression opportunities as the firm continues to expand.

Role Responsibilities

• Managing a mixed portfolio of owner-managed business clients.
\n
• Acting as the primary day-to-day contact for clients.
\n
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 (Section 1A).
\n
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts.
\n
• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600s.
\n
• Reviewing VAT returns and advising on VAT compliance.
\n
• Working extensively with IRIS and Xero.
\n
• Supporting client onboarding onto Xero.
\n
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing on-the-job guidance.
\n
• Supporting with Self Assessment and Partnership tax returns.
\n
• Supporting MTD filing deadlines for ITSA.
\n
• Preparing and reviewing capital allowance claims (desirable).
\n

Personal Requirements

\n
• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
\n
• 3-6 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
\n
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and corporation tax.
\n
• Strong working knowledge of IRIS and Xero.
\n
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
\n
• High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
\n
