Finance Manager

Your new companyA well-established SME construction company in Bristol is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee its day-to-day finance function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management and supporting the business with commercial decision-making.Your new role?

• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
\n
• Managing cash flow and short-term forecasting
\n
• Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities
\n
• Processing and reviewing payroll information
\n
• Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Managing CIS submissions and VAT returns
\n
• Monitoring project costs and supporting profitability reporting
\n
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and controls
\n
• Liaising with external accountants and auditors
\n
• Supporting operational managers with financial information and reporting
\n
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies
\n

What you'll need to succeed

\n
• Qualified by experience or AAT qualified
\n
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper role
\n
• Experience within construction, engineering or a project-led business would be advantageous
\n
• Knowledge of CIS and VAT regulations
\n
• Strong understanding of management accounts and cash flow reporting
\n
• Good Excel skills and experience using accounting software
\n
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
\n
• Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach
\n
