Make a difference in the lives of students with this rewarding contract opportunity for a School Psychologist in the Rio Rancho area. You'll work 37.5 hours per week from August 3rd through May 28th, supporting both elementary and secondary students. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about mental health, assessment, and advocacy within a collaborative school environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current or eligible to obtain a New Mexico PED School Psychologist license
  • Previous experience working in a school setting with diverse student populations
  • Strong assessment, consultation, and report-writing skills
  • Familiarity with IEP development, behavioral interventions, and crisis response
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work on-site full time during the school year

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and interpret psychological assessments for students across elementary and secondary levels
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop interventions and support plans
  • Provide counseling, consultation, and direct support to students, promoting social-emotional learning and resilience
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and 504 plan development
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Contribute to district-wide initiatives around mental health, behavioral support, and student success
