Job Description


An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Global Export Compliance Specialist to join the Global Export & Sanctions Compliance (GESC) team at a leading global technology company. This role is critical to supporting the successful launch of innovative products and technologies while ensuring compliance with U.S. and international export control and sanctions regulations. As a member of the GESC team, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization to develop practical compliance solutions, manage regulatory requirements, and support business objectives in a fast-paced, global environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Classify hardware, software, components, and technologies under applicable export control regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements, and other applicable international regulations.
  • Prepare and submit export classification requests, license applications, and other regulatory filings to government agencies.
  • Conduct sanctions and restricted-party due diligence, including research and risk assessments of companies and individuals.
  • Support deemed export compliance, including foreign national reviews and BIS license application submissions.
  • Maintain export compliance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver export compliance awareness training programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compliance processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Contribute to broader export compliance initiatives and projects across the organization.


Qualifications


  • Strong working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), particularly Categories 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience with hardware and software product, part, and component classifications.
  • Experience with End User Certifications (EUCs) and Nuclear Nonproliferation Statements.
  • Experience researching companies and individuals for sanctions-related risks.
  • Familiarity with international export regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.
  • 3+ years of export compliance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Mac/macOS preferred.


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Relations, International Trade, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
