Position OverviewThe primary objective of this role is to execute the essential functions of a nurse, which include assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care.
Essential Job Functions- Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate, ensuring patient and family comfort and safety.
- Implement physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
- Comply with infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques during patient care.
- Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established policies and regulations, including COLA and CLIA.
- Execute admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty area; perform or assist with procedures or treatments.
- Provide care in accordance with legal, hospital, departmental policies, and established nursing standards as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
- Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma is required; BSN is preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in Telemetry/ICU, or a combination of 2 years in related healthcare roles is required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross are required; PALS certification is strongly preferred (ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS).
- Fluency in English is required for both written and verbal communication.
- For Pennsylvania RNs: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) must be completed within the last 5 years or obtained prior to the start date.
