Surgery - Abdominal Transplant Surgeon
Job Description
The Surgery Department, specifically the Division of Transplantation, at our medical center is looking to hire an Academic Multiorgan Transplant Surgeon at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will have a background in kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation. Clinical responsibilities will primarily involve adult liver and kidney transplants, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive nephrectomy. Additional duties may include performing general surgery procedures on transplant patients and potentially engaging in hepatobiliary surgery. A commitment to participating in both undergraduate and graduate medical education is essential.
Applicants must be board eligible or certified in general surgery and hold a valid medical license in Illinois prior to their start date. Candidates should have completed an ASTS-approved fellowship and meet the UNOS criteria for liver and kidney transplant surgeons. Familiarity with the UNOS criteria for pancreas transplantation is also preferred. The chosen candidate will be expected to engage in clinical care, teaching, research, and contribute to university service.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes:
- A starting salary range of $159,000 to $985,945
