We welcome everyone. This principle, articulated by a member of our outreach team, embodies the philosophy of our organization to embrace all individuals in need. This commitment drives our mission, vision, and daily operations.
Following the Civil War, four pioneering Sisters of Mercy arrived from Savannah to Atlanta and founded Saint Joseph's Hospital. When the hospital moved to the suburbs a century later, volunteer physicians, nurses, and staff took to the streets of downtown Atlanta, using their skills to assist the most vulnerable. This compassionate mission laid the groundwork for what is now our organization.
In 2012, Saint Joseph's Hospital transitioned to Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, while our organization continued under the Saint Joseph's Health System. At this juncture, the resources and efforts of the health system were directed towards our mission of serving the underprivileged.
Over the past decade, we have achieved remarkable growth, addressing new patient and community needs, as well as expanding our facilities. In 2017, we established a new clinic in Chamblee to serve the expanding Hispanic community. In 2022, we renovated and expanded the Decatur Street clinic while continuing to serve our patient population.
