Job Summary
A local CPA firm in Shreveport, LA is seeking a full-time Tax Accountant to join its public accounting team. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with 1-2 years of tax or public accounting experience who wants to continue building long-term expertise in individual, business, trust, partnership, and corporate tax work.
The Tax Accountant will support tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and client service responsibilities in a professional CPA firm environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting professionals, strengthen technical tax knowledge, and develop strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, corporations, and partnerships.
- Prepare federal and state tax projections for quarterly estimated payments.
- Prepare franchise tax, personal property tax, and payroll tax returns.
- Prepare or review monthly bookkeeping activity for client accounts.
- Prepare financial statements and support related accounting work.
- Research and troubleshoot tax and accounting questions to help resolve client issues accurately and efficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Direct hire, full-time opportunity.
