JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

REVENUE CLERK

The Barbour County Commission is now accepting applications for a full time position as Revenue Clerk. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year office experience is preferred; however, any combination of education and experience will be considered. Applications will be accepted until this position is filled.

Barbour County is one of a few counties that operate two courthouses, one in Clayton and one in Eufaula. Clayton was established as the county seat in 1833 because it is geographically located in the center of the County. The Clayton courthouse first opened in 1834. The courthouse in Eufaula was established in 1879 when the local legislation was passed to "Regulate the holding of the circuit courts of Barbour County.
