CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist with Okuma Programming experience in the Spartanburg, SC area!
Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts and components according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of machining principles, safety protocols, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual milling machines and lathes to perform precision machining operations, including cutting, shaping, drilling, and grinding materials.
Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining specifications.
Ensure the quality of finished parts by inspecting them using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, including any adjustments or issues encountered during the machining process.
Keep work area clean and organized, following 5S or similar organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or machining apprenticeship is a plus.
- Okuma Programming Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Manual Machine Operator, particularly with mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Basic math skills for measurement and calculation purposes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
