Location: Longmont, CO at our medical center
Department: Mammography
Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (every two weeks)
Shift: Daytime
Compensation: $40.40 - $56.56 per hour, based on relevant experience. This role requires onsite presence and does not support hybrid or remote work options.
Position OverviewThe role involves conducting mammography procedures in alignment with established standards of practice and the organization's policies, values, and mission.
Key Responsibilities- Review patient medical history and physician orders, and manage scheduling.
- Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as required, within the scope of practice.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to any changes appropriately.
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures, such as fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
- Prepare necessary equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control checks on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results to identify any quality issues.
- Take corrective actions to resolve imaging quality problems, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Document, transmit, and report scan results.
- Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or hold ARRT-R with State Provisional Mammographer registration and obtain ARRT-M within 12 months. State licensure as required by law.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with the card available before the start date. BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
