Orthopedic Surgeon
Job Description
Our organization is seeking a full-time General Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on total joint procedures, including hips, knees, shoulders, and arthroscopy. This role involves providing care to Veteran patients at our facility. The selected candidate may be required to deliver services in various environments, such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units like Intensive Care and Medical/Surgical, as well as in the Emergency Department. The responsibilities associated with this position encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversee all facets of medical care, assisting residents and/or mid-level practitioners in evaluating and treating patients within the Orthopedic Surgery service.
Conduct patient evaluations to monitor changes in both physical and mental health status.
Coordinate with providers within and outside of their service line, as well as with other VHA facilities or community healthcare providers, as dictated by the veteran's care plan.
Carry out consultations within their own and other service lines as necessary.
Contribute to clinical care, as well as graduate and undergraduate medical education, and engage in scientific research when appropriate.
Perform surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative care for both major and minor operations, along with orthopedic consultations for inpatients and outpatients.
