Location: UCHealth Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion, Aurora, CO

Department: Radiology Mammography

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Compensation: $40.40 - $56.56 per hour, based on relevant experience. This role is strictly onsite and does not offer remote or hybrid options.

Position Summary

The role involves conducting mammography procedures in alignment with established standards of practice and the organization's policies, values, and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient medical history and physician orders, and manage scheduling.
  • Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as required, within the scope of practice.
  • Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to any changes appropriately.
  • Assist physicians with interventional procedures, such as fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
  • Prepare necessary equipment and supplies, selecting suitable exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control checks on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results to identify any quality issues.
  • Take corrective actions to resolve imaging quality problems, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Document, transmit, and report scan results.
  • Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or ARRT-R with State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months. State licensure as required by law.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with the card in hand before the start date. BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
