Job Summary
A food and beverage production company in Murrieta, CA is seeking a Temporary Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing, vendor communication, inventory records, and purchase order activity during a maternity and baby bonding leave coverage.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented purchasing professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment, coordinating with suppliers, and keeping materials and supplies moving efficiently. The selected candidate is expected to start within the next two weeks to allow for hands-on training with the current team member, making this a strong opportunity for someone who values structure, knowledge transfer, and a supportive transition.
The Temporary Purchasing Coordinator will play an important role in maintaining supplier relationships, tracking order status, resolving delivery issues, and supporting internal departments with purchasing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and internal departments originating requests.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding purchase orders, order status, changes, cancellations, and delivery updates.
- Contact suppliers to schedule, confirm, or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed shipments, or late deliveries.
- Compile and maintain inventory records, including quantity, type, value, pricing, cost, receipts, and disbursements of materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Compare inventory records against packing slips, production records, and purchase invoices to confirm current inventory levels.
- Track and trace open orders while supporting purchasing, inventory, and supplier coordination needs as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Temporary contract assignment covering maternity and baby bonding leave.
- Target start date is within the next two weeks to allow for training with the current employee.
