Job Overview:
The role involves operating a scanner to capture images essential for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Duties:
- Prepare and position patients while accurately selecting anatomical and technical parameters to generate cross-sectional images.
- Conduct pre-screening, scheduling, and provide education to patients regarding the examination process.
- Input and monitor patient data, as well as transfer images as needed.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications in accordance with established practices and regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient history.
- Maintain equipment functionality and report any potential issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in keeping the department clean and organized, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Work in a consistently alert and safe manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Completion of an MRI or Radiology Technology program.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication.
- Ability to distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or equipment malfunctions.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly assist in moving patients.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional color vision tasks.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of limbs.
- Rarely kneeling or sitting.
Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or
- Certification from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
