Job Description

Join a physician-led multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, where a collaborative team approach to patient care is at the forefront. The role of the Oncology Hospitalist involves overseeing the medical needs of patients receiving care in the Oncology department.

The Oncology Hospitalist collaborates closely with the outpatient Medical Oncologists at our Cancer Institute. A dedicated Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) assists with documentation and manages calls from the inpatient floor. Typically, the service accommodates between 10 to 20 patients. For a full-time Oncology Hospitalist, the expectation is to complete 182 shifts annually. In addition to a base salary, compensation includes RVU production pay and a quality bonus.

This full-time position follows a 7 days on/7 days off schedule, supported by a full-time APP. There are no on-call duties associated with this role.

Support: The dedicated 10-bed inpatient unit at our Regional Medical Center in Boise is currently staffed by one additional Internal Medicine-trained hospitalist and two full-time APPs. The facility offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical subspecialties for consultation and support.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency program;

  • Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure and privileges at our Regional Medical Center in Boise;
  • Current registration for controlled substances with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Oncology physician to become part of a growing team within our organization.
