Polar Semiconductor, LLC has an opening for a Senior Technology Development Engineer, based out of its headquarters in Bloomington, MN.

  • Characterize, evaluate and document integrated semiconductor devices and reliability of circuits.
  • Contribute to the development of process flow and macro modules required to fabricate semiconductor devices.
  • Lead set up and processes and device simulations to determine initial processes, capabilities, and direction for optimization of new process flows.
  • Oversee design and perform experiments and analyze results to determine process sequences and parameters.
  • Analyze data from fabrication of test to determine requirements for additional optimization.
  • Work with senior process engineers to develop, characterize and optimize process modules.
  • Recommend test structures for and contribute to the layout of test chip mask sets to aid in developing new processes and evaluating specific process dependencies of device parameters.
  • Provide technical support regarding equipment.
  • Develop operational maintenance for products, components, equipment and systems.
  • Lead development of criteria, procedures, reports, and plans for the successful conduct of projects.

Salary ranges from $113,090 to $129,010/year, commensurate with experience and standard company benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, eligibility for annual bonus, and tuition reimbursement.

  • Full Requirements: Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Material Science or a related field, plus three years of experience working as part of the semiconductor fabrication process. Such experience must specifically include work with (1) Process integration; (2) MEMS or optoelectronics fabrication; (3) Device characterization techniques and layout design; (4) Reliability testing; (5) UNIX; and (6) DOE design and statistical data analysis.
