Overview of the Role and Qualifications

The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing both routine and advanced laboratory tests in areas such as toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology, which are essential for diagnosing and treating patients. Your Responsibilities in This Position:

• Conduct chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic tests across various laboratory sections.
• Ensure accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and other specified areas.
• Maintain quality assurance by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment using approved procedures, performing routine maintenance, and monitoring quality control protocols.

Essential Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or a related field is required, or you must be “Grandfathered” as a medical technologist under CLIA 88.
• Certification as MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP), or relevant certifications such as BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I (ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP) is required, or you must be eligible for registry/certification.
• Registry/certification must be achieved within one year of employment.
• Previous experience is preferred.
