Location: Middletown, CT
Contract Length: 2 Months
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (5x8)

Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dental Assistant for a short-term, full-time contract assignment in Middletown, CT. The ideal candidate will assist dentists with a variety of clinical procedures, maintain a safe and sterile environment, and provide excellent patient care while supporting daily dental office operations.
This role requires proficiency in chairside assisting, digital radiography, infection control, electronic dental records, and general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists during operative dental procedures, including:
    • General Dentistry
    • Pediatric Dentistry (Pedodontics)
    • Prosthodontics
    • Orthodontics
    • Periodontics
    • Oral Surgery
  • Perform instrument exchange during dental procedures.
  • Prepare dental restorative and prosthetic materials.
  • Assist with oral surgery procedures as needed.
  • Take high-quality digital dental X-rays.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance for infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on dental equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate daily workflow.
  • Maintain accurate electronic dental health records.
  • Prepare requests for diagnostic testing.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
  • Ensure complete and accurate patient documentation.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents.
  • Pour dental molds when required.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with front desk or triage duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous Dental Assistant experience
  • Experience assisting with a variety of dental procedures
  • Ability to take digital dental X-rays
  • Knowledge of OSHA infection control and sterilization standards
  • Experience with electronic dental records (EHR)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dental team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a multi-specialty dental practice
  • Knowledge of dental restorative and prosthetic materials
  • Strong patient education and customer service skills
