Role Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engaging in ongoing evaluations of the quality of care provided in the unit, collaborating with management team members.
  • Working with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Promoting a patient-first approach and participating in service recovery when necessary.
  • Assisting the facility in boosting engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Providing input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff, and recommending actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Ensuring proper inventory management and assisting with the oversight of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
  • 1-2 years of prior charge experience is preferred, ideally in a facility of similar size and service offerings.
  • Experience in Oncology, emergency care, pre-hospital settings, or critical care is preferred.
  • Certification in ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate degree in nursing.
