Make a meaningful impact in the lives of K-12 students as a skilled school psychologist at multiple school sites near Baton Rouge, LA. This contract opportunity (29 hours per week, open to a hybrid model) places you on the frontlines, collaborating with students, families, educators, and district teams across a diverse district. Initial professional development days are on July 27, and interviews begin soon, making this a great way to start the academic year contributing to student growth and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Active Louisiana DOE certification in School Psychology
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data
  • Deep understanding of IDEA compliance and special education eligibility criteria
  • Ability to write comprehensive evaluation reports and provide clear verbal summaries
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary team processes
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with parents, teachers, and professional staff
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities to maintain mandated timelines
  • Collaboration experience with diagnosticians, social workers, SLPs, and administrators
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!
  • Must successfully complete district background check and fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a valued member of the multidisciplinary support team for PK-12 students across various campuses
  • Conduct thorough educational assessments and deliver written reports within required timelines
  • Guide families to valuable community resources and services
  • Work directly with students and families using accepted educational interventions
  • Consult with teachers, principals, and other education professionals about assessment and intervention strategies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records to ensure program accountability
  • Lead and participate in parent and school staff in-service trainings; explain assessment processes and findings
  • Administer, score, and interpret assessment tools; contribute to individualized educational planning
