Assistant Accountant

Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a large, well-established organisation to recruit a commercially focused Assistant Accountant to join their team.

As Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in driving financial performance, ensuring accurate reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
\n
• Analysing financial performance, providing insight, challenge, and recommendations
\n
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations, explaining variances and risks
\n
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
\n
• Partnering with stakeholders to understand cost drivers and business performance
\n
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and efficiency
\n

• Previous experience in a fast-paced finance environment
\n
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
\n
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
\n
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
\n
• Strong Excel and general IT skills
\n
• Motivated to develop within finance (study support available)
