Job Description

- Support German customers with complex hardware, software and networking issues. \n
- Lead system integration, installations, retrofits and technical training. \n
- UK-based in Lewes with regular travel to the Wuppertal office and customer sites \n

- Provide first-line technical support in fluent German and English by telephone, email and onsite visits. \n
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking and system integration issues affecting passenger information equipment. \n
- Support projects from initial consultation and protocol definition through hardware selection, software implementation, vehicle integration and installation. \n
- Carry out site evaluations, installations, retrofits and technical investigations at customer and OEM locations in Germany. \n
- Create databases and media content for onboard equipment and coordinate integration with third-party vehicle systems. \n
- Deliver technical training to customers, partners and internal teams. \n
- Produce accurate technical documentation and maintain clear records for future support. \n
- Work collaboratively with the UK Technical Manager, German Sales Manager and cross-functional colleagues. \n
- Travel regularly to the German office in Wuppertal and customer sites, with occasional wider international travel and night work. \n
- \n
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken. \n
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in electronics, software or a related technical discipline. \n
- Experience providing technical support directly to customers in a hardware, software, electronics or engineering environment. \n
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python, Lua, C, C++, C# or .NET. \n
- Experience configuring and diagnosing Ethernet networks and communication protocols. \n
- Practical, methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving. \n
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and customer issues under pressure. \n
- Clear technical communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders. \n
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to Germany and internationally. \n
- \n
- Knowledge of serial communications such as IBIS, RS232 or RS485. \n
- Experience with Linux systems, electrical or electronic design, circuit diagrams or vehicle wiring. \n
- Background in public transport, automotive, manufacturing or passenger information systems. \n
- Experience working with cross-functional and internationally distributed teams. \n
- \n
- £55,000–£65,000 salary depending on experience. \n
- 25 days’ annual leave, increasing with service to 30 days, plus bank holidays. \n
