Yolk Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading food manufacturing business in the search for an experienced HR Officer to join their established HR team in Carmarthen.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with site leadership, providing expert HR support across the full employee lifecycle while helping to drive engagement, compliance and best practice across the business.

\n

What you'll be doing

\n

As HR Officer, you'll provide proactive, hands-on HR support to managers and employees across a broad range of generalist HR activities, including:

  • Supporting managers with employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence management.
  • \n
  • Providing first-line HR advice and guidance on company policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • \n
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, interviewing candidates and coordinating offers.
  • \n
  • Planning and delivering a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.
  • \n
  • Producing weekly and monthly HR reports covering areas such as absence, headcount, overtime, training and working time, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • \n
  • Managing both short and long-term absence cases, including Occupational Health referrals and sickness review meetings.
  • \n
  • Coordinating all site-based HR administration to ensure accurate employee records and compliance.
  • \n
  • Supporting internal and external audits, including ethical trading and HR compliance audits.
  • \n
  • Organising and coordinating monthly Employee Forum meetings.
  • \n
  • Building strong working relationships with managers across the site to support business objectives and promote best HR practice.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an organised, confident HR professional who enjoys working in a busy operational environment and can build strong relationships across all levels of the business.

\n

You'll ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role within manufacturing, food production, warehousing or another fast-paced operational environment.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations processes and UK employment legislation.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to influence and build credibility with managers and employees.
  • \n
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • \n
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for supporting people.
  • \n
