\nMTrec Technical are proudly representing a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Dalkeith, as they seek to appoint an experienced Maintenance Technician to their growing team.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing hands-on engineering support across all departments. You'll play a vital role in maximising equipment performance, supporting continuous improvement projects, and contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of site operations.
\nThe Job You Will Do:
\n- \n
- Provide emergency breakdown support to production machinery and equipment \n
- Conduct regular planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule \n
- Support the UK Engineering Manager with engineering projects, including design, specification, purchasing, and installation \n
- Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide range of production and support equipment \n
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying and resolving recurring issues \n
- Maintain accurate records for all maintenance activities \n
- Assist with external contractors and service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety standards \n
- Ensure all work aligns with company Health & Safety, ISO 14001, and industry compliance standards \n
- Take part in initiatives to improve downtime, efficiency, health and safety, and hygiene \n
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment \n
About You:
\n- \n
- Qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred) \n
- Recognised time-served apprenticeship \n
- Proven maintenance experience in a factory/manufacturing environment (essential) \n
- Post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role (desirable) \n
- Knowledge ofMotors, drives, PLCs, gearboxes, transmissions \n
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude \n
- Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills \n
