Job Description

Reed Finance are working with a FTSE250 company in Central Bristol recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant.

This is a high-impact role within a well-established finance team, offering the opportunity to lead key reporting processes, manage a small team, and contribute to wider group strategy.

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Group Consolidation Manager, you will take ownership of reporting across a large and complex group structure, while playing a key role in driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

\n

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, project management, and delivery of accounts across multiple entities (circa 350 entities, including audit requirements)
  • \n
  • Manage the year-end timetable and coordinate with internal teams and external auditors
  • \n
  • Review, prepare, and deliver high-quality statutory accounts in line with deadlines
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the group structure, including winding up unnecessary entities
  • \n
  • Oversee intercompany balances and ensure accuracy and recoverability
  • \n
  • Maintain and improve ledgers and reporting processes
  • \n
  • Collaborate with tax, legal, and company secretariat teams on structural changes
  • \n
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects, including systems implementation
  • \n
  • Lead, develop, and support a small team
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement through process and systems enhancements
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Strong experience in group reporting within a large, listed environment (IFRS)
  • \n
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
  • \n
  • Experience managing and developing a team
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to interpret complex issues
  • \n
  • Confident working with complex group structures
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • \n
  • Experience with finance systems such as Oracle or similar is advantageous
  • \n
