A leading criminal defence firm in London is seeking a Criminal Defence Senior Associate to join its specialist team.

The firm has an established reputation across London and the South East for providing expert criminal defence representation. With a large team of criminal defence lawyers and higher court advocates, the firm handles a broad spectrum of work, including serious, complex and high-pressure criminal matters.

This role would suit an experienced criminal defence solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload, supervising junior lawyers and contributing to the continued development of a successful department.

The role will involve:

• Managing a broad caseload of criminal defence matters
\n
• Advising clients in serious and complex cases
\n
• Attending police stations, Magistrates' Court and Crown Court as required
\n
• Preparing cases for trial and working closely with counsel and experts
\n
• Supervising and supporting junior lawyers and paralegals
\n
• Helping to maintain and develop strong client and referrer relationships
\n
• Contributing to the growth and reputation of the team
\n

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience in criminal defence
\n
• Strong technical knowledge and excellent judgement
\n
• Confidence managing serious and complex cases
\n
• Excellent client care, advocacy and case management skills
\n
• Police station accreditation and duty solicitor status would be advantageous
\n
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
\n
• A proactive, commercially aware and team-focused approach
\n
