The Role

We are currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a busy and friendly finance team based in IP9. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking for a temporary position with the possibility of securing a permanent role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and suppliers are paid on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
\n
• Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
\n
• Coding and posting invoices onto the accounting system
\n
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
\n
• Managing and maintaining supplier accounts
\n
• Handling supplier queries via telephone and email
\n
• Assisting with payment runs
\n
• Supporting month-end purchase ledger activities
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
\n
• Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team as required
\n

Person Specification

\n
• Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable position
\n
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
\n
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
\n
• Good communication skills and a professional telephone manner
\n
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
\n
• Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel
\n
• Experience with accounting software would be advantageous
\n
