Private Client Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive/Head of Department

Location: Kingsbridge – South Hams – Devon

Hybrid/Flexible Working | Full-Time | 2+ PQE

A respected regional law firm in the heart of Devon is expanding its Private Client department and is looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to head up a sub team from its South Hams office

The Opportunity:

You’ll take ownership of a well-established caseload and sub team, delivering clear, practical advice to a loyal and growing client base.

Typical matters will include:

\n
• Will drafting and estate planning
\n
• Probate and estate administration
\n
• Inheritance tax advice and lifetime planning
\n
• Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
\n
• Court of Protection work
\n
• Trust creation and administration (advantageous but not essential)
\n

Much of the work involves HNW clients across the South Hams, though previous experience with HNW estates isn’t a requirement.

This is a role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy, consistent client contact and the support of a highly approachable team.

About You:

\n
• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx)
\n
• At least 2 years’ PQE in Private Client work
\n
• Strong communication and client-care skills
\n
• Able to manage your own caseload confidently
\n
• STEP qualification (or interest in obtaining it) is a bonus
\n
• Candidates with supervision experience preferred, although not essential
\n
