Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, gaining exposure to production finance, budgeting and forecasting while supporting the financial performance of high-profile TV productions. We're looking for a proactive Finance Assistant with strong accounting fundamentals who is keen to develop their career, with a clear progression pathway into an Assistant Management Accountant role within approximately 18 months. This is a hybrid opportunity, with three days per week in the office and the remainder working from home. Key Duties\n

  • Accurately code, check and allocate invoices and purchase orders across multiple business divisions
  • \n
  • Manage the invoice authorisation process and resolve any related queries
  • \n
  • Review weekly freelance cost sheets and ensure production cost coding is accurate
  • \n
  • Assist with the recording and reporting of daily, weekly and monthly production costs
  • \n
  • Support the preparation and analysis of production cost estimates alongside operational teams
  • \n
  • Monitor actual spend, forecast final costs and report on remaining costs to complete
  • \n
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end accounting entries
  • \n
  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations and financial analysis
  • \n
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, reconciling actual spend against budget
  • \n
  • Take ownership of fixed production contracts, ensuring accurate accounting treatment
  • \n
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • \n
  • Allocate overtime costs and prepare expense returns
  • \n
  • Review travel expenditure and ensure costs are allocated correctly
  • \n
  • Support internal and external audit processes through the preparation of documentation and reports
  • \n
  • Assist with finance systems improvements, including ERP and production accounting system implementation
  • \n
  • Promote best practice around finance processes and purchase order compliance
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • \n
  • Maintain detailed process documentation for month-end and routine finance activities
  • \n
  • Support ad hoc finance projects, reporting and analysis
  • \n
  • Assist with sustainability reporting and data collection where required
  • \n
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance and Production teams, providing ongoing support to stakeholders
  • \n
Key skills: \n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar finance role
  • \n
  • Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or keen to continue professional studies
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, including debits and credits
  • \n
  • Good understanding of finance processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • \n
  • Confident working with large volumes of financial data
  • \n
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using finance or ERP systems
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across Finance and operational teams
