This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and reliable driver to join a well-established business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of engineered trusses and I-beams to customers while delivering exceptional levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, your duties will include:

• Safely operating a Class 2 HGV vehicle to deliver engineered trusses and I-beams to customer locations.
\n
• Loading and unloading products securely using appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques.
\n
• Planning efficient delivery routes to maximise productivity and minimise travel time.
\n
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
\n
• Reporting any vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns.
\n
• Accurately completing all delivery documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and customer signatures.
\n
• Maintaining records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
\n
• Providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally at all times.
\n
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
\n
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
\n

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• A valid Class 2 HGV Driving Licence (Class 1 licence would be advantageous).
\n
• Previous experience driving HGV vehicles, ideally within a delivery or distribution environment.
\n
• A good understanding of road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
\n
• Strong navigation skills and experience using GPS or route-planning systems.
\n
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
\n
• A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
\n
