We are recruiting an experienced Senior Finance Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerk for one of the UK’s leading land, property development, home-building and construction businesses based in Sheffield.

The Job:
\n\nReporting into the finance function, you will be responsible for supporting a range of transactional finance activities, ensuring the smooth running of ledger operations and maintaining compliance across key financial processes.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\n- \n
- Supporting the management of purchase, sales and subcontractor ledgers \n
- Administering CIS processes, including subcontractor set-up and compliance \n
- Preparing and assisting with CIS returns \n
- Processing house sale completion statements \n
- Managing invoice processing, coding and payment runs \n
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end activities \n
- Resolving finance queries and liaising with stakeholders across the business \n
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues where required \n
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems and streamline processes \n
- Other ad hoc duties as required \n
The Person:
\n\n- \n
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is essential \n
- Strong knowledge of purchase and/or sales ledger processes is required \n
- CIS experience, including subcontractor administration and returns, is required \n
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is essential \n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities are required \n
- Confident communication skills and a proactive approach are essential \n
