Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education?

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a specialist Alternative Provision based in High Wycombe for a dedicated Community Mentor to support children and young people with SEN, SEMH, anxiety, trauma and other barriers to education.

\n

This is a rewarding outreach role supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within homes and community settings, helping them re-engage with education, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

\n

We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, outreach, pastoral support, behaviour support or social care.

\n

Key Responsibilities:\n

  • Deliver 1:1 educational and pastoral support in homes and community settings

  • Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and anxiety

  • Deliver personalised learning and engagement activities

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and families

  • Monitor progress and liaise with schools and professionals

We're Looking For:\n

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
  • \n
  • Background in teaching, tuition, mentoring, outreach, youth work, pastoral care, behaviour support or social care
  • \n
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • \n
  • Flexibility to travel across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire
  • \n
