Forging & Heat Treatment Supervisor

\nThe Opportunity
\nA leading engineering & manufacturing organisation is seeking a Forge Supervisor to join its operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven production leader to take responsibility for a key manufacturing area, driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity and people development.
\nWorking within a fast-paced industrial environment, you will lead a team to ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nOperational Management
\n- \n
- Lead daily forge operations to achieve production, quality and delivery targets. \n
- Monitor and improve departmental KPIs including OEE, productivity, inventory control and cost performance. \n
- Manage resources, equipment and manpower to optimise production efficiency. \n
- Support production scheduling and adjust plans where required to maintain customer commitments. \n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department. \n
Health, Safety & Environmental
\n- \n
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture. \n
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements. \n
- Complete risk assessments, safe working procedures and accident investigations. \n
- Lead corrective and preventative actions arising from audits, incidents and inspections. \n
- Champion housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the area. \n
Quality & Process Improvement
\n- \n
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering and Technical teams to resolve process and product issues. \n
- Support investigations into quality deviations and implement corrective actions. \n
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, efficiency and reliability. \n
- Ensure compliance with customer and business quality standards. \n
People Leadership
\n- \n
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of production employees. \n
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development discussions. \n
- Manage attendance, return-to-work processes and holiday planning. \n
- Support employee relations activities including disciplinary and grievance procedures. \n
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and training. \n
Skills & Experience
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a steel/forging/heat treatment manufacturing environment. \n
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements. \n
- Experience managing operational performance against KPIs. \n
- Excellent communication and people management skills. \n
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. \n
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications. \n
Desirable
\nExperience in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
\n- \n
- Experience within forging, metals, heavy engineering, heat treatment or similar industrial sectors. \n
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies. \n
- Experience of manpower planning, materials control and production scheduling. \n

\nThe successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience within the metals industry such as Forging, Heat Treatment etc.
