\nWe are supporting TATA Steel with a permanent opportunity for an Electrical Craft Team Member to join their Corby works. Corby works are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation's mission of being a sustainable steel provider. The successful applicant will be a time served Electrician who has worked in heavy industry, carrying out maintenance craft work.
\nThe successful applicant will be a time served electrician with experience in a Heavy Industrial environment and in a maintenance capacity.
\n\nRole: Electrician (Electrical Craft)
\nLocation: TATA Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA
\nRate: £36,779 - £37,586
\n(£31,982 basic plus 15% shift allowance, rising to £32,684 plus 15% shift allowance after probation)
\nShifts: Rotating pattern of days, lates and nights Mon-Fri.
\nStart: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. (This does include a drug and alcohol test)
\n\nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems across the plant \n
- Performing planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime \n
- Troubleshooting relay control circuits, AC/DC motors, and various types of drives \n
- Conducting basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S, and 1500 systems \n
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and working with computerized maintenance management systems (MMS) \n
- Contributing to plant reliability and efficiency by identifying and implementing improvement projects \n
- Adhering to strict Health and Safety protocols and SSOW \n
- Supporting with improvement initiatives within the department \n
Essential requirements:
\n- \n
- Qualified Electrician who has completed a time served apprenticeship \n
- Previous experience (2+ years) within a Heavy Industrial environment \n
- Ability to be fully flexible and adhere to the shift pattern \n
- Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to the shifts) \n
- Experience with low voltage systems, drives and PLC's \n
- Ability to fault find and conduct root cause failure analysis \n
- Familiarity with SAP or equivalent system \n
- Good verbal and written communication skills \n
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation \n
- 18th edition (desirable) \n
