Location: Chester (hybrid working available)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £38,000 – £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The role

We’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Chester who are looking to recruit an experienced Tax Senior to join their tax team.

This is a varied, client-facing role where you’ll manage your own portfolio, support junior team members and work closely with managers and partners on a broad range of tax matters. The role offers real responsibility, technical development and a clear pathway for progression.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal and/or corporate tax clients
\n
• Preparing and reviewing tax computations and returns
\n
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries and providing advice
\n
• Assisting with more complex tax work and advisory projects
\n
• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance
\n
• Ensuring compliance deadlines are met accurately and on time
\n
• Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and best practice
\n

What we’re looking for

\n
• Previous experience in a tax role within an accountancy practice
\n
• Part-qualified or qualified ACA / ACCA / CTA (or equivalent)
\n
• Strong technical knowledge across personal and/or corporate tax
\n
• Confident communicator with a client-focused mindset
\n
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
\n
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
\n
