A forward thinking and respected independent accountancy practice is looking to recruit an Audit Assistant Manager / Audit Manager to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audit professional seeking greater responsibility, strong client exposure, and genuine career progression within a supportive and ambitious firm.

The Role (depending your experience), you will either:

\n
    \n
  • Lead smaller audit assignments whilst supporting senior staff on larger engagements (Assistant Manager), or
  • \n
  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients and oversee assignments from planning to completion (Manager).
  • \n
\n

You will be involved in the full audit lifecycle, working closely with Partners and senior leadership while supporting and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Lead audits from planning through to completion
  • \n
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact
  • \n
  • Review audit work and ensure compliance with UK audit standards
  • \n
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff
  • \n
  • Manage deadlines, budgets, and workflow
  • \n
  • Support Partners on larger and more complex assignments
  • \n
  • Contribute to audit quality and process improvements
  • \n
\n

About You

\n

\n
    \n
  • ACA qualified
  • \n
  • Strong UK external audit experience within practice
  • \n
  • Experience leading audit assignments and reviewing work
  • \n
  • Sound knowledge of UK Auditing Standards, FRS 102 and UK GAAP
  • \n
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • \n
  • Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
  • \n
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • \n
\n

Assistant Manager candidates will typically have around 2 years' post-qualified experience, while Manager candidates should have experience managing audit portfolios and teams.
