An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Brighton on a part-time basis.
\n\nThis is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys a varied role and is looking for flexibility alongside the chance to develop specialist knowledge. Working closely with an experienced Manager, you'll support a growing portfolio of clients, preparing service charge accounts, dormant company accounts and trust tax returns, while playing an important role in the continued growth of the team.
\n\nFull training will be provided in specialist areas such as service charge accounting, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
\n\nKey Responsibilities
\n\nAccounts Preparation
\nPrepare draft service charge accounts by collating financial records from managing agents and self managed developments.
\nEnsure expenditure is accurately allocated to the correct schedules and cost categories.
\nPrepare and submit dormant company accounts using IRIS software.
\nVerify invoices to ensure they relate to the correct clients and are suitable for inclusion within the accounts.
\nAssist with the preparation of trust tax returns and related tax calculations.
\n\nClient Support
\nDevelop strong relationships with clients through professional and responsive communication.
\nLiaise with clients to resolve queries as your experience develops.
\nSupport the Manager with the day-to-day management of a growing client portfolio.
\n\nPractice Support
\nHelp manage workflow across the team to ensure deadlines are met.
\nContribute to continuous improvements in processes and working practices.
\nSupport the continued growth of the department through efficient and accurate delivery of client work.
Requirements\nSkills & Experience
\n\nA minimum of three years' experience within an accountancy practice.
\nGood bookkeeping knowledge.
\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.
\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
\nGood written and verbal communication skills.
\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.
\nProfessional, reliable and well organised approach.
\nExperience using IRIS would be advantageous.
\nAAT qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
\nPrevious experience preparing service charge accounts would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
Benefits\nPart-time opportunity with flexible hours between 15 and 22.5 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday working days.
