Are you an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or Purchase Ledger professional looking to take the next step in your finance career? We are seeking a Finance Officer to join a large and established organisation.

Working as part of a friendly and supportive finance team, you'll gain exposure to management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations and operational finance, making it an ideal role for someone looking to broaden their experience beyond transactional accounting.

Day to Day of the Role

• Work closely with the Financial Controller to support the preparation of financial information, reporting, and forecasting.
\n
• Take ownership of a range of operational finance activities including:\n
  \n
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports.
  \n
  • Investigating variances and supporting budgeting activities.
  \n
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journals.
  \n
  • Supporting and overseeing purchase ledger processes.
  \n
  • Managing expenditure analysis and providing meaningful financial insights.
  \n
  • Supporting property and facilities-related financial processes.
  \n
  • Monitoring project and operational costs across the organisation.
  \n
  • Supporting banking activities, payment processing, and reconciliations.
  \n
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
  \n

Required Skills & Qualifications

\n
• Experience within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping environment.
\n
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
\n
• Experience supporting management accounts or month-end processes.
\n
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
\n
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
\n
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
\n
• AAT Level 4 qualification (or studying towards it) is advantageous, although candidates who are qualified through experience will also be considered.
