\n\nThe Opportunity
\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join a growing precision engineering business based in Nottingham. Working within a modern machine shop, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing high-quality precision components for a range of industries.
\nThis role would suit someone who enjoys working on a variety of one-off and batch work, has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in producing components to the highest standards.
\n\nThe Role
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Programming CNC milling machines using CAD/CAM software and machine controls. \n
- Creating, editing and optimising programmes to improve machining efficiency. \n
- Setting and operating CNC milling machines. \n
- Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and workholding. \n
- Manufacturing one-off and batch components from engineering drawings. \n
- Carrying out tool changes and adjusting offsets. \n
- Producing first-off components and completing first-off inspections. \n
- Inspecting finished components using verniers, micrometers, bore gauges and height gauges. \n
- Reporting any quality issues or non-conformances. \n
- Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. \n
- Maintaining programme documentation and machine records. \n
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and maintaining a clean, organised work area. \n
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times. \n
About You
\nTo be successful in this role you will ideally have:
\n- \n
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment. \n
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines. \n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. \n
- Strong inspection skills using a range of measuring equipment. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. \n
- Good communication and problem-solving skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. \n
Desirable Experience
\n- \n
- CAD/CAM programming experience. \n
- Experience with Hurco, Haas, Mazak or Fanuc control systems. \n
- Experience working with Haas and Matsuura machining centres. \n
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification. \n
