Software Solutions Architect

You will take complete ownership of the software architecture for a rapidly growing research and development team backed by a brand new multimillion-pound investment into robotics technologies. This role allows you to shape high-integrity automation from early concepts through to deployment whilst leading the integration of next-generation autonomous capabilities. You will drive technical direction within a fast-expanding environment where your architecture directly enables real-world physical systems to operate safely and effectively.Essential requirements\n

• Experience with Linux and developing real-time software in C/C++ or Python
\n
• Strong background implementing in safety-critical software.

• Excellent basic salary + a bonus of up to 35%

What you will work on\n

\n
• Define and develop end-to-end software architecture for advanced vehicle automation and robotic systems.
\n
• Establish robust continuous integration and continuous deployment processes for safety-critical software components.
\n
• Lead architectural design for computer vision, sensor integration, digital twin technology and real-time simulations.
\n
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed software systems seamlessly into physical hardware products.
\n

Skills and background\n

\n
• A degree in software engineering, computer science or an equivalent technical qualification.
\n
• Essential technical proficiency using Linux alongside real-time software development in C, C++ or Python.
\n
• Some understanding of electronics with the ability to read electrical schematics is a big plus
\n
• Prior experience with the ROS, ML algorithms or computer vision tools is highly advantageous.
\n

Location and setup\n

• Based in Newcastle with a hybrid setup - 3x onsite each week. Some occasional UK and overseas travel to partner sites may be required.
