\nDay-to-day of the role:
\nProject Support
\n- \n
- Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and site improvement projects. \n
- Support project managers and engineers with project documentation, schedules, budgets, and progress tracking. \n
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers during project activities. \n
- Monitor project milestones and report progress, risks, and issues. \n
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. \n
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities. \n
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and site performance. \n
Facilities and Building Management
\n- \n
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of site buildings, offices, welfare facilities, and external areas. \n
- Coordinate routine inspections of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure. \n
- Support management of facilities-related contractors, including cleaning, security, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance providers. \n
- Help identify and implement building improvements and repairs. \n
- Monitor facilities maintenance schedules and ensure statutory inspections are completed. \n
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the site. \n
- Maintain records relating to building compliance, permits, and inspections. \n
- Manage external contracts for site cleaning, coffee machines, and other employee facilities. \n
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and UK legislation. \n
- Support risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work processes. \n
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP requirements, and site procedures. \n
- Assist with contractor inductions and monitoring of contractor compliance. \n
- Support audits and inspections from customers, regulatory bodies, and certification organisations. \n
Administrative Duties

- Raise purchase orders and track project expenditures. \n
- Maintain maintenance and project databases. \n
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project updates. \n
- Support the engineering team with general administrative and technical tasks. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications
\n- \n
- HNC, HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management or Construction. \n
- Strong organisational and communication skills. \n
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. \n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation. \n
- Experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial environment. \n
- Knowledge of facilities management and building maintenance. \n
- Understanding of project management principles. \n
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drawing software. \n
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations. \n
- Experience working with contractors and suppliers. \n
- Ability to work independently when required. \n
