CNC Machining Operator / Setter
\nLocation: Halstead, Essex
\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent
\nMarket 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Machining Operator / Setter on behalf of our client based in Halstead.
\nOur client is a leading manufacturer of precision aluminium and steel castings supplying the Aerospace, Automotive, Commercial and Industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machining Operator / Setter to join their established machining team.
\nMain Purpose of the Role
\nTo set and operate CNC machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to customer specifications whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
\nRoles & Responsibilities
\n• Setting and operating CNC machines to carry out a range of machining operations.
\n• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
\n• Preparing machine set-ups in line with production requirements.
\n• Monitoring machine performance and production output.
\n• Producing components in accordance with quality standards and tolerances.
\n• Inspecting finished products to ensure dimensional accuracy.
\n• Working closely with the Inspection Department to maintain product quality.
\n• Identifying and reporting any production or quality concerns.
\n• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
\nAdditional Responsibilities
\n• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department.
\n• Assisting with training and development where required.
\n• Adhering to all company health and safety procedures.
\n• Undertaking any other duties reasonably required within the role.
\nExperience, Skills & Qualifications
\n• Previous experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Setter or similar machining role.
\n• Experience working with castings would be advantageous.
\n• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
\n• Understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
\n• Knowledge of Fanuc controls would be highly beneficial.
\n• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
\n• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
\nWorking Pattern & Benefits
\nHours:
\nInitially working on a day shift for training and familiarisation purposes. Following a successful training period (up to 3 months), the role will move onto a rotating shift pattern:
\n• Week 1 – Early Shift
\n• Week 2 – Late Shift
\nThe late shift attracts a £1.50 per hour shift premium.
