Multi-skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) Beccles, Suffolk | Competitive Salary DOE + excellent company benefits Full Time | Permanent (Shift Pattern) 4-3-3 shift pattern | 12-hour days & nights | Monday–Friday Hales Group are recruiting for a skilled and adaptable Multi-skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our client’s manufacturing site in Beccles. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing maintenance team within a fast-paced, sustainability-focused production environment. This is a hands-on role with a strong electrical focus, supporting both preventative and reactive maintenance, alongside continuous improvement and refurbishment projects across site. \n
• Work collaboratively with the engineering team to maximise productivity across shifts.
\n
• Carry out planned preventative and autonomous maintenance, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
\n
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on production equipment, responding efficiently to breakdowns.
\n
• Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and equipment upgrades.
\n
• Assist with electrical installation, modification, and refurbishment projects.
\n
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with procedures and safety standards.
\n
• Communicate effectively with team leaders regarding faults, progress, and performance.
\n
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with 6S and site standards.
\n
• Work both independently and as part of a team in planned and reactive situations.
\n
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and hygiene standards.
\n
• Support the wider engineering function as required to ensure efficient site operations.
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Educated to GCSE level (Grade 4/C or above or equivalent).
\n
• Electrically qualified (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
\n
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills with a good working knowledge of mechanical systems.
\n
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing production or manufacturing equipment.
\n
• Experience working with electrical control systems, motors, sensors, and fault diagnostics.
\n
• Strong problem-solving ability and proactive approach to maintenance.
\n
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
\n
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to work on your own initiative.
\n
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
\n

Desirable\n

\n
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
\n
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding (training provided if needed).
\n
• Experience within plastics manufacturing or similar industries.
\n
• Experience supporting continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.
\n
